Prevention of white collar crime – do your part!

The damages incurred from white collar crimes (such as fraud, theft, breach of trust, corruption) are constantly on the rise. This goes beyond even purely financial losses or other material losses. The image and good reputation of the company can be impaired by such actions. Both can endanger jobs in the long run.

The Flughafen Wien group is working intensively to fight such malpractice. We are particularly reliant on your help for the prevention and prosecution of these criminal acts. As part of their duty of loyalty, the law obligates all employees to report to their employer regarding circumstances and suspicions that indicate criminal actions.

We have therefore decided to add another method to the existing options for reporting such circumstances, such as through one's supervisor, the internal audit department or a letter to the management board. The new method involves a standardized whistleblowing system, BKMS® System (Business Keeper Monitoring System), which has already been used for a number of years by renowned corporate groups and public authorities. The system is an internet-based application which is available twenty-four-seven and enables employees, customers and third parties, in person or under the protection of anonymity, to report criminal business activity and company-damaging behaviour out of ethical responsibility or because of a moral conflict.

The Flughafen Wien group has established the BKMS® System exclusively for reporting criminal business activity. Needling or disparaging employees or customers have no place here or elsewhere in the corporate culture of Vienna Airport. This system therefore may not be misused to knowingly submit false or slanderous statements or information. But one thing should be made clear: Whistleblowers who report malpractice for ethical and moral reasons are not denunciators. They help greatly in protecting the social and legal values of our country.

We want to effectively protect you as a whistleblower and offer you a communication platform here, secured with the newest technologies to permit the submission of personalised or anonymous reports. We would like to ask you to set up a secured postbox after finishing the report. This will make it easier to clarify your observations. Your reports will be handled strictly confidentially.

For general feedback from customers and passengers, the feedback management system on our website is available. For suggestions and improvement proposals from employees, please refer to the company-internal suggestion process as well as the "Mail the Management Board" function via the intranet.
