When can I submit a report?

As soon as you have knowledge of damaging behavior or risks which threaten our company, you can use this whistleblowing system at any time. Your report helps to detect possible damages to our company early on.

What type of reports are useful to DATEV?

Reports on breaches of legal standards and their implementing provisions will be accepted and forwarded.

More detailed information regarding possible key items of the report will be provided to you during the reporting process.

The following information will not be accepted via this reporting route:

• information that is not related to criminal behavior or behavior that damages the company;
• other information on issues of individual work behavior;
• other information on issues related to the company's organization;
• information on employee's private behavior.

The whistle-blower system is not the proper reporting tool for the above types of information. With respect to our employees, more details in this regard are provided in the general company agreement for the implementation of a DATEV whistle-blower system.

How will my report be processed and how do I set up a postbox?

To submit an anonymous or personalized report start by clicking the “Submit Report“ button located at the top of our information page. Please turn off the pop-up blocker of your Internet browser so that the opening window can be displayed.

The reporting process consists of four steps:

1. First, read the informational section about protecting your identity. This section also includes a security questionnaire.
2. Second, you will be asked to describe the topic of your report on the following page.
3. On the Report Page you will be asked to use your own words to describe the incident you are reporting – using no more than 5,000 letters, or a fully completed DIN A4 sheet of paper – and to answer specific questions. You may also submit smaller files of up to 5MB to support your report. Please remember that documents can contain information about their author. After you have submitted your report it will be given a case number as proof that you submitted this specific report.
4. Finally, you will be asked to set up your own anonymous postbox. This postbox will be used to communicate with you, answer your questions and keep you posted on the status of your report.

Once you have established an anonymous postbox you will be able to access it via the Log-In button. Prior to opening your postbox you will have to complete a security procedure.

The electronic BKMS^® Whistleblower System's technology will maintain your anonymity as long as you do not submit any information that contains your personal identity.

We assure you that we are not interested in your personal information as the whistle blower, but rather on the case you are reporting. The objective is to detect deficiencies early on and to prevent financial damages.

How do I receive feedback and still remain anonymous?

The utmost principle of the BKMS^® procedure used here is to protect the whistle blower. The functionality of anonymity protection is certified and may be checked at any time.

When you set up your anonymous postbox, you select a pseudonym and password yourself. Your report is kept anonymous through encryption and other special security routines. You will never be asked for your personal information during the whistleblowing process. As long as you yourself do not input any data that allows conclusions to be drawn about your identity, the BKMS^® System protects your anonymity through technological processes.

You can additionally protect your anonymity by using a DATEV-independent PC.

The person in charge of your report will contact you via your anonymous postbox to provide information about the status of your report or to ask further questions if certain details need to be clarified - your anonymity will be always protected during this process. We are interested in these reports in order to prevent damages, not to get information about the person who submitted them.
